1) Information we collect

Information you provide

• Account information: email address (if you sign up with email) or information provided via Sign in with Apple, plus username, name, profile photo, and cooking preferences.
• User content: content you create or share, including posts, photos, recipes, likes, and comments.
• Communications: information you include when you contact us (e.g., support emails).

Information collected automatically

• Usage and device data: information about how you use the Services (e.g., pages/screens viewed, features used), and device/network information such as device identifiers, IP address, browser type, and diagnostics.
• Cookies (website): we use cookies and similar technologies to operate the site, remember preferences, understand usage, and improve the Services.

Device permissions (if you enable them)

The iOS app may request access to:

• Photos / photo library
• Camera
• Microphone

You can manage permissions in your device settings. If you deny access, some features may not work.

What we don't collect

• No precise location data
• No payment card information (we do not collect payment details at this time)
• The Services are not directed to children under 13 (see Section 7)

2) How we use information

We use information to:

• Provide and maintain the Services (accounts, features, and user content)
• Personalize your experience and provide recommendations
• Improve and debug the Services, including performance monitoring and error detection
• Communicate with you about support requests and service-related messages
• Protect the Services, our users, and Cooked (security, fraud prevention, and policy enforcement)

We do not run third-party ads in the Services at this time.

3) How we share information

Service providers

We use vendors to help operate and improve the Services (for example, hosting, analytics, and customer support). These providers may process information on our behalf under contractual obligations to protect it.

Analytics & crash reporting: we use Mixpanel (analytics) and Sentry (error/crash monitoring).

Public content

The Services are social by nature. By default, your profile and the content you post (including posts, recipes, photos, likes, and comments) are public and may be visible to other users and the public, depending on how the Services are accessed.

Legal and safety

We may disclose information if we believe it is necessary to comply with law or legal process, respond to lawful requests, or protect the rights, safety, and security of Cooked, our users, or others.

Business transfers

If we're involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

Integrations

We may offer integrations with third-party services in the future. If we do, we'll describe what information is shared when you choose to connect or use the integration.

We do not sell personal information.

4) Cookies and similar technologies (website)

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the website and understand usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling some cookies may affect site functionality.

5) Your choices and privacy rights

• Device permissions: manage access to Photos, Camera, and Microphone in your device settings.
• Access, correction, deletion: you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by emailing hello@cookedhq.com.

Cooked does not "sell" personal information, and we do not "share" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising (targeted ads) as those terms are defined under certain U.S. state privacy laws.

6) Data retention

We keep personal information as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services and for legitimate business purposes (such as security, compliance, and dispute resolution). If you request deletion, we'll take steps to delete or de-identify your information, subject to legal or operational requirements.

7) Children's privacy

The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us at hello@cookedhq.com.

8) Security

We use reasonable safeguards designed to protect information. No system is 100% secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.

9) International transfers

Cooked processes and stores information in the United States.

10) Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the updated policy and update the "Effective date" above.
